CHALLIS BRIGHT have been established for over 15 years at this address in Southampton in the County of Hampshire. Although in recent years we have dealtwith cases and attended in courts as far north as Manchester, to Brighton in the East and west as far as Swansea and Truro in the South West. So we are not just confined to the Hampshire and London areas.

JOHN CHALLIS prior to this practise has over 27 years experience in the legal profession. During this time dealing with, and attending upon many Taxations (now Assessment Hearings). He is a member of the Wessex Group of Law Cost Draftsman.

CHALLIS BRIGHT not only draft Bills of costs for the courts but will deal with negotiations required to settle matters expeditiously, without recourse to the courts.
In fact 90% of all our cases are settled in this way. Those that don’t settle are vigorously fought for the client's costs all the way. Many people forget that the costs are the clients.

In civil actions, we deal with Personal Injury matters, anything from straightforward Road Traffic Accidents, to difficult and much more complicated Clinical Negligence and Industrial Accident (asbestos etc) actions. Also Professional Negligence matters.

Our rates are fully compliant with Civil Proceedings Rules, and are recoverable within the Bill of costs.

We also deal with Court of Protection matters, Family Law matters and Child Act cases.

We negotiate payment of all your costs direct with the paying party, thus saving valuable time and effort for our professional clients.

However if this fails, we draft Points of Dispute or prepare Replies thereto.

We expedite vital or urgent files, at no extra cost to our clients, and are flexible enough to move with the times. Given the fact that the Government is forever changing the rules and regulations with regard to legal fees, and their recovery.

Give advice on Legal Bills of costs, and although 95% of our clients are solicitors, we welcome enquiries from members of the public.
